Delete a lot of Photos from iPhone

If you're like me, you'll find yourself constantly running out of space on your iPhone because you take way too many pictures. And, after you upload them to OneDrive or iCloud, you'll be wanting to delete most of them.

For me, dragging to select thousands of photos is frustratingly slow.

Windows Explorer

The easiest way I've found to delete or just move a bunch of photos from your phone is simply to use Windows Explorer:
  1. Plug your iPhone into your PC with a USB cable
  2. Unlock your phone and, if it asks, allow the PC to access the iPhone.
  3. Run Explorer (Windows key+E is one, quick way)
  4. Select This PC
  5. Double click on Apple iPhone.
  6. Double click on Internal Storage.
  7. You'll now see a DCIM folder. Go in there (by double clicking it).
  8. You'll see some number folders. These are where your pictures are.

  9. Move or delete your photos. Be careful here. These are not going to go into your PC's Trash nor the iPhone's Recently Deleted when you delete them.
